Toronto Star - Navigation
The second major project I worked on during my time at the Toronto Star was the redesign of their Navigation. Initially, all breakpoints used a confusing triple-tiered hamburger menu that often could not surface the most relevant pages or information, forcing users to use the sitemap instead.
The results have been staggering. Usage of the navigation is up around 12% on desktop, and 25% on mobile compared to where they began. User reliance on the sitemap has gone down drastically as well (60% on mobile)
