First Draft Racing

After years of riding and racing on other teams, I help found First Draft Racing in 2018 and all-women Elite cycling team. Kit design and identity was created by me, photos by Ahmed Alkoka

In 2018, First Draft Racing was composed of 5 women in the Elite 1-2 category of cycling. The team competes in both the Ontario Cup Road, TT, Criterium and Track Series, as well as some early season gravel and late season CX races. In addition to racing in Ontario, the team will travel various National and potentially some larger International Races. All members of the team are very active in cycling clubs within Ontario, including Morning Glory Cycling Club, Team RACE, Dark Horse Flyers, Batemans and Midweek. Many of the women are both ambassadors and participants in charitable organizations such as Coast to Coast Against Cancer and the Jack ride..

With all the hard work put in, the team is sponsored heavily by Garneau, Skratch Labs, Powerwatts, Merecedes-Benz and many others all of which are represented in the kit design.

The team Instagram account and website were designed, and maintained by me in 2018. As a result of our high placings through the 2018 season and our work building up the sport, we’ve secured a number of new high-level cycling sponsors and new teammates for 2019.
